My first forward!!! Jazz Instrumental...
Just got my very first forward!!! I submitted my song "Groove, Baby" To this listing:
Woohoo!
Will
Y190210JZ
ORIGINAL, 1950s or 1960s-Sounding JAZZ-INSTRUMENTALS are needed for a bunch of up to $2,000, NON-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music-Supervisor placements in an Independent Feature Film. This Music Supervisor is on the hunt for authentic-sounding Mid-to-Up-Tempo Instrumentals that are in the general stylistic ballpark and vibe of the following references we got from her:
"Brilliant Corners" by Thelonius Monk
"My Little Suede Shoes" by Charlie Parker
NOTE: Please listen carefully to the references! Send us Instrumentals that you think could work perfectly on the same playlist with them. This Music Supervisor is very discerning, but has used music from TAXI members in the relatively recent past!
Please submit original Instrumentals that have authentic-sounding instrumentation, solid musicianship, and a great arrangement. You can submit recently recorded songs that are in the general stylistic ballpark; but if you’ve got any original, vintage pieces recorded back in the day, this Music Supervisor would really love to hear them!
NOTE: This film is set in the '50s and '60s, so the music should sound as if it was composed and recorded in that era. Authenticity in style and sound could help you a lot for this request.
TAXI Tip: Please do NOT add sound effects like record scratches, clicks, and pops to give your submissions an old or aged feel. Also, please avoid submitting anything that sounds stiff or obviously MIDI-driven.
All submissions should be approximately 2 to 4 minutes in length, give or take. Do NOT copy the references in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, tone, texture and overall vibe. Era-Appropriate Broadcast Quality is needed. In other words, your fidelity should sound like it would have in the '50s and '60s.
The license fees for this placement will be between $1,000 - $2,000, depending on the ultimate use. This is a Non-Exclusive, Direct-to-Music Supervisor placement, so you’ll keep 100% ownership of your Copyright and Master Recording, plus you’ll also get 100% of the Master License Fee and any applicable performance royalties. You must own or control your Copyright and Master Recording to pitch for this opportunity. Please submit as many Instrumentals as you’d like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis - No full critiques. Somebody from the Music Supervisor’s team is slated to screen submissions for this, time permitting. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PST) on Sunday, February 10th, 2019. TAXI #Y190210JZ
