My first "vocal" cue used in TV promo

Post by JohnnyP » Tue Jul 06, 2021 7:02 am

Just wanted to expound on a topic I posted in Peer to Peer a few weeks ago.

This was my first attempt at using my vocals in a cue. It's only non-lyrical so doesn't count on my statement as a "vocal song" ;) , but it was nice to hear "Clappiness" get used in Germany on National TV over a dozen times so far. It was for a show on Vox called "First Dates". (Thanks to @CTWF and @Funsongs for help with the translation.) Vox used a combination of both the vocal and instrumental portions in each of the :23-:26 second usages.

This one was forwarded twice through TAXI listings asking for "quirky instrumentals". Never had contact from the libraries so I reached out to a TAXI friendly library in the Nashville area (whom I met at the Road Rally). It became part of a collection that dropped in April 2021.

For ppl (like me) who can carry a tune but don't have the pipes for lead vocals, these non-lyrical cues may be an avenue for you! Btw this was done with Logic piano/strings/arpeggiator, with my own claps layered on Logic claps.

here's a link to Clappiness.

JP!

Happy you've found, another material you're enjoying working on. Hope many more placements, and much clappiness come from it. Take care.
