Re: My First Year of Taxi - A Review
Steve,
Your attitude is right on!!! If you treat your music like a "normal" business... grow, invest, lose, fail, gain, succeed.... you WILL BE SUCCESSFUL!
The beginning is always the biggest investment but there is a break point where you wake up one day and realize you are a "professional"
Thanks for sharing reality! Much inspiration to all!! You will make it at this pace.

Re: My First Year of Taxi - A Review
I like your attitude and your colourful paragraphs - doesn't take much to cheer me up!
I don't spend anything like as much on subs but I still go beyond my means yet never count the cost - I put blinkers on because money just isn't that important to me -
And when renewal date comes along, I always have the same argument with myself, should I shouldn't I - deep down knowing I will, even though I'm not in a position to actually use my membership that much - I just like it to be THERE for those odd occasions when I feel "Right, I've made SOME kind of improvement - time to check out where I am now" - and if it's yet more rejection (I don't have a problem with that word) it never puts me off - I just start again but it takes a while to HEAR what is being said in those critiques - Hear it for myself I mean - Then I always think "Thank God they DIDN'T forward it!" - Typically a year for me, not good I know, but at least I eventually "get it".
So like you, patience is key for me - so long as I don't snuff it in the meantime!
Oops - just experimented with changing the colour of just one word and realized it ain't that simple - Don't know how to undo!
Oh well
See you around - Steve

Hi Steve,
Yup, you've got the right attitude. If you can learn something from a rejection, then it's a step forward.
And hang in there, you'll get the hang of the colours
Best nickname on the boards, by the way

Re: My First Year of Taxi - A Review
Steve:
Just like you I just past my 1 year of being at Taxi and have spent over $500 on it, and like you I do not feel like it is a waste, I have gained some great insight and knowledge about what it means to be a producer/musician at this level here. The feedback is very valuable and I feel it is worth every cent spent (enough that I signed up for two more years).
Keep up the great attitude, I look forward to hearing great things from you in the future.

Re: My First Year of Taxi - A Review
Yes, thanks for sharing that Steve.
I'm new here (just joined this month), but I've done research into library music over the past year. Hopefully, using the Peer To Peer will help with rejected tracks with fixing problems so as to submit them to other libraries.

Hi Dave,
Absolutely. The P2P forum was my most valuable source of info/feedback.
It's a long road, but I'm starting to see some success and hopefully have a long career ahead of me due to sticking through the hard times.
Cheers,
Steve
