Thanks for sharing Steve. 8-)
I'm nearing the end of my first year but I haven't submitted nowhere near as many as you. I hope to improve on that after the Rally. :D

Cheers

Just added my year 3 update to the original post.
Where's 4 , 5 ,6 Steve ! ??

I stumbled across yours looking for my own post/update. Things have moved on a lot this year for me, was just re-visiting my own thoughts.

I would say, if you want to go from zero to making a living within 5 years, study to be a doctor instead, it's probably less work
But hey, we are doing what we love, I'm getting nice royalty payments coming through that cover several bills, and, depending on how good these next royalty statements are (which will include the ramp up in placements), I would guess that I can probably make a living from my royalty statements in year 7-8 of the five year plan. But there is still a lot of work ahead!
I can really see this year how its possible to make a living as a TV composer, and I'm back to being as hungry as ever!!!
Lol, yeah I shoulda gone to med school instead  ...it would be quicker and more lucrative

Great update Steve. Mine is not due until Feb 2022 but it should be a doozey. Glad to hear it's starting to come good for you also.

Mark

With your attention to detail and your disregard for emotional intelligence, you'd actually be a prime candidate for the maths/engineering circus.
Such flattery - What are you after Tom ? I wouldn't say disregard, it's the opposite.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for detail :D , this really helps from a Newbie perspective.

I will have more realistic goals because of this.

Thanks for this Steve, it's very helpful and inspiring. I joined TAXI a few days ago and this kind of information is really useful. Good luck with your future years writing music.
