My little music corner
It's not much, just around 8ft x 10ft in the corner of the garage...it's all the wife will allow ! It is all acoustically treated though so it sounds pretty balanced and separate enough that I don't generally disturb anyone when there's a Taxi deadline looming.
PC Running Sonar 8.5 ( I'm around 4 version behind now ! ) + Loads of Vsti's + FX
Adam A7's
Avantone Mixcube
Focusrite Pro 24DSP
Focusrite LiquidMix
Evolution MK-225c
Audio Technica 4040
Homemade broadband absorbers x 5
Yamaha Pacifica ( mainly used as midi controller nowadays ) & a couple of acoustic guitars
When I was sorting out the acoustics I used the Home Theatre Shack software to measure it, and Ethan Winer from Realtraps kindly helped out interpreting the results via a forum so I was trying all kinds of "ghetto" tips to make it better without spending a fortune but one of those was to use a makeshift limp mass barrier which I never did get around to replacing with a "proper" one but it's actually a rug hung from the ceiling behind the desk but a couple of feet away from the wall..really helped out with cleaning up the low end. Also the spare Auralex tiles were put on the desk surface as there was a distinct peak around 1k and the guys on the forum correctly guessed it was the sound bouncing off this hard surface.
Most importantly that thing that looks like a tangerine is a shaker.

Nice setup.
Smart move getting the guru Ethan Winer to sort out your room sound.

I especially like the acoustic foam work. The beige/whitewood walls look curious, are they acoustic?

No that's just painted breeze block LenLen911 wrote:I especially like the acoustic foam work. The beige/whitewood walls look curious, are they acoustic?
I do have some pics though from back when I built the absorbers in 2009 at my old house. I pretty much followed and article in SOS magazine but I had spare Auralex tiles too as I bought one of their room kits so I used them to face the absorbers.
