New forward for Dark and Drone-y

Post by ChazAldi » Thu May 24, 2018 5:05 am

I have been known to be dark and drone-y so I thought I had a good shot at this one!

The listing:

Y180514DD
DARK and DRONE-Y INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a Brand New, NON-Exclusive Music Library recently started by the CEO of another successful company. They’re looking for Down-Tempo Cues in the stylistic range of the references below: “The Lonely Tomb” True Detective https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNKoixy8_WM “Perihelion” by Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npFeMDdODi0 “Reflection” by Johan Johannsson: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mq2AUCkUrnA Please send them subtly textured Instrumental Cues with very little to no melodic movement. Your Cues should have a consistent droning quality that delivers an ominous, moody feeling. Please be sure to stick to a singular vibe and sound throughout the entire Cue to keep your submission emotionally cohesive from beginning to end. Simplicity and mood are everything for this pitch! Your submissions should be at least 2 minutes in length. Non-Faded endings will work best for this pitch.

Hits the spot Chaz! Another good example of how to keep it simple and sparse whilst maintaining interest. Nice work :) .
Graham (UK). Still composing a little faster than decomposing, and 100% HI.

Nice. I like when the distorted guitar (or what sounds like a distorted guitar) comes in. The build up got pretty big. I always debate how much is enough and how much is too much in my builds. So much of it depends on how it will be placed, I guess. That's why I like to create a scene in my head to image how it might work in a particular scene. Well done.
