Hi Everyone!
I'm new to taxi.com and I am looking for some mentorship and guidance.
A little about me: I've been songwriting since I was 14. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at 19, I had my first relapse the following year where I momentarily lost coordination in my hands and after relearning how to play the guitar, I decided to pursue music.
After a few years later, I zoned in on what I wanted to do: my long-term goal is to write for film, television and other artists.
As a result, I found my way to taxi.com and I'm currently writing for opportunities presented on the website.
I have a small catalog, and so far, I've been forwarded once.
As a newcomer to taxi.com, are there any additional resources other than the podcast (I already listen to it actively) that I can get into?

Hi Harrisonc,
Well, you're in the right place!
Sure, there's loads of things you can do. Taxi TV (Mondays on YouTube) is great.
These forums are worth the membership alone. Just post your music up here and ask for a critique from your fellow Taxi members.
Robin Frederick has written some great books on this subject.
And of course keep writing and submitting. Forwards are great but returns are where you really learn.

The Road Rally is a supercharged event and you should plan to attend.
Usually happens the first weekend of November in LA at the Westin LAX hotel.

Hi Harrison,
Welcome to TAXI!
I don't have anything new to add, but I wanted to give a +1 to both suggestions above. Both the Rally and the forums are great places to meet other TAXI members who can offer lots of help to get you started and can also become co-writers/collaborators/references. We all often think we can go it alone, but the biggest successes I see are usually collaborations.
Write, Submit, Forget, Repeat!

Hi Harrison. Welcome aboard. It's a great ride.
Keep your eye on these forums. Put your stuff on the peer to peer group before a listing is due so you can get tonnes of feedback on your piece before you submit it. Don't forget to add what the actual listing is, so we all know what you are aiming for. Don't be worried about criticism on these forums. No one is an ass here. This is a very supportive community.
If you miss out on a forward, look at what pieces were forwarded so you can learn what the benchmarks are.
Looking forward to seeing (hearing your stuff)
