Novelty (Bluegrass-Humor) Swizzle Stick EDM-hybrid?
Worth the price of submission?
Swizzle Stick
https://soundcloud.com/funsongs-1/5-swi ... ance-songs
(PS - would need to add in the EDM/programmed part)
for this listing:
NOVELTY-Style, COUNTRY HYBRID SONGS with Male, Female, or Duet Vocals are needed for an (up to) $25,000 placement by a very successful Multi-Media Company/Producer that needs the perfect song for a big Animated Feature Film!
They’re looking for an Up-Tempo Song that would fall within the general stylistic ballpark of the following reference we got from our client:
“Cotton Eye Joe” by Rednex
They’re looking for a Song that would work well as a replacement for “Cotton Eye Joe,” which is currently temped in. To be clear: They’re NOT looking for clones or sound-alikes! Similar tempo, energy, and overall vibe? Yes. Clones? No!
Quoting the Source: “The song should have the same energy and tempo as the temp song “Cotton Eye Joe” – BPM is 128. It could be a little faster as well, but not less than that."
Please submit well-crafted Country songs that are that are packed with tons of energy and combined with contemporary Dance/EDM elements and beats. Your submissions can have a bit of a quirky quality to them, but don’t go too left-of-center. Think of the type of song that could work well in a comical, high-energy chase scene.
TAXI Tip: If you already have a Country song that fits the vibe of the reference, consider just creating a remix version by creating a hybrid of Dance/EDM elements into your Song.
They didn’t specify any lyric themes; however, lyrics that avoid references to specific names, dates, times, brands, and profanity are strongly recommended. Do NOT copy the referenced artists or songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a guide for tempo, texture, and tone. Broadcast Quality is needed.

Hey Peter
Great song! It definitely has the humor and a nice up tempo thing going on. I know Micheal mentioned ( on Taxi TV )that he thought of you, when the listing called for this kind of song, so I think you are on the right track. Also, nice banjo picking and instruments in the background. Good luck!

I listened to it as well! You're definitely onto something there. It sounds to me like what they're looking for.

Thanks Tom - hopefully my studio guy can assist me in putting an EDM track underneath all that Redneck music.songmaster wrote:Hey Peter

If there is any way I can help... please don't hesitate to ask. I am not a big EDM guy but I think all this needs is a well placed EDM kick. I think I could manage that!funsongs wrote:Dang - that's a lotta pressure... ...DannyWeber wrote:Spot on, Peter.. You have a week and I hope you can get it ready. ML true to his word.. Mensch!

Peter, if I were you, I'd bring the vocals out some more. Considering the "Cotton Eye Joe" reference.
I wish you the best of luck, Peter!! You've got this!!!
"Swizzle Stick", "Swizzle Stick" all the way, Peter!

Re: Novelty (Bluegrass-Humor) Swizzle Stick
Thanks for the confidence, but unless I manage to get a proper EDM track composed to replace the current percussion, I'm not gonna bother to submit to the listing.DannyWeber wrote: ↑Mon Dec 03, 2018 8:45 pmPeter, if I were you, I'd bring the vocals out some more.
