Quote:Congrats on those two forwards, Von.Keep us up on them. Thanks Drew - I'm waiting for word on two other listings I submitted to and getting two more ready to send.So far, I've heard nothing on the first forward we got, but after reading Matt's story, I know it can take quite some time. All I can do is hope for the best.

Today's ONOFFON SSP of the Day is our page over at Amazon.com - we joined their Amazon Advantage program back in 1998 - then it was free, although they do nothing for you other than allow your music to be sold on their site and take 55% of the sales price. Nonetheless, it is Amazon and it seems a good place to be - we've sold a steady stream of CDs through them -Amazon.comONOFFONhttp://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/sto....61 ... 5651Thanks Amazon - I still like CD Baby more - Derek rules...

The ONOFFON SSP of the Day is from Craig Combs, a gentleman who wrote an article about ONOFFON's promotional prowess and had it published in a number of different places - this is what he had to say about the article -Craig CombsSubject: ONOFFONTo: Von Babasin <von@onoffon.com>"Dear Von,To tell you the truth, that article has gone more places than a hungry dog with no home. I think it was all print - No Cover Magazine, Collegiate Monthly 101, Rockpile Magazine, a book by the name of Music For Fun and Profit (of which I will surely get you a copy) ... and, of course, I'll post it at SpinRecords.com! I must do so immediately (well, realistically next week). When that is done I will send you the link. What you are doing with ONOFFON is truly defining the Internet music revolution. Who else is? There are many opportunities these days. You seem to be exploring them and your lessons are quite valuable to other artists. We should discuss how you might share your experiences with a world that is slowly waking up to itself.Craig"Thanks to Craig for his appreciation of what we've been doing, both musically and promotionally. Too bad society measures success in monetary standards only - surely artistic success means something...

Today's ONOFFON SSP of the Day is from a production company who was asking independent artists for music for a short film they produced - having just released our first CD, and wanting exposure wherever we could get it, of course, we replied - and then they replied -"Dear members of ONOFFON,Quite some time ago I posted a request for bands interested in having their music in a short film, and you guys replied. I know it's been a while, but we (Fossardt, Inc.) are finally finishing up the post production of a short film, and we would like to use your song, "Please Baby Please", for our opening credits. We cannot offer any kind of monetary compensation, since the nature of short films is to operate in the red. You will recieve on screen credit, and we are planning on sending the film to festivals, contests, industry professionals, etc.If you are still interested, I would like to fax you a release for the use of "Please Baby Please." Please reply to this e-mail address if you would like to be a part of this project, and hopefully, we can then set things in motion. Thanks for your time,Mark JamesFossardt, Inc."We thank Mark for the opportunity of added exposure his film brought to us...

The ONOFFON SSP of the Day comes from SSP of another band I'm working with, Zenpool. In Zenpool's travels to promote his music, he's never been shy to introduce those working with him - which I both appreciate and admire. He was talking with a Prog station on Live365 - ProgPositivity, and this was the response he got in reference to ONOFFON -Zenpool: "our bassist's von babasin's band "ONOFFON" leads the jazz charts on SP (do a google on these guys!)"PP: "I don't think I've told you this yet...Quite some time ago, I was sending a cassette of some of my favorite tunes to someone I met on a Frank Marino discussion list. He reciprocated by sending me a cassette of some of his favorite songs. The entire side "B" of his cassette was dedicated to a bunch of songs by an unknown jazz band. This guy was normally a rocker but he had just fallen in love with this great band.ONOFFON was the name of that band! Small World, huh? "ProgPositivityhttp://www.progpositivity.com/Our sincere thanks to Zenpool and ProgPositivity for showing that the grapevine indeed works...

Another feature on another website is today's ONOFFON SSP of the Day - this time from Kweevak.com -"Hey Von,Just a note to let you know that you're featured on the Kweevak.com main page for the month of May.Starting this month we have discontinued our Tractor Beam feature and have consolidated it into our regular main page featured artists. We have extended your listing on our new main page through May.Thanks for sending us your disc!Sincerely,Richard J. LynchKweevak.com"We thank Richard for the feature although we are no longer a part of his site. When promotional websites start charging money for their services and features, it then simply becomes paid advertising. I feel when a feature comes free of charge, it is a more honest appraisal of one's music....

Orkut's a hassle but it gives me a chance to do my political rant thing now and then, albiet within the usual void of content from the opposition.glad to see things going well for you. keep it and good luck!laters,b
