I like it! A very modern take.
I don't think the tympani figure fits exactly?
But I like the sounds/tonality. Your ear takes it to surprising places.
I'm thinking, the contrasting bits work well for 'music to listen to' but might work against 'underscore music that needs to flow'.
Its a challenge for me--I tend to want to write music I would want to listen to, which includes contrasting sections and a sort of structure, but I've gotten more than a few Taxi reviews that say that there should be a consistent sound that *develops* rather than switches around.
I don't know if this makes sense--listening again, your cue might be more *about* Christmas music, than *being* Christmas music.
