The second return for "Too Ghoul For School". Different reasons, though.

So - were the return reasons clear enough so that you are able to 'tweak' it for better results, without spoiling the good and/or the momentum?
Hope you're not feeling like it's a lost cause - but something that makes it worth making it the RIGHT song;
and that the screener will be excited about getting the forward... next time.

Thanks for asking, Peter. The two returns both mention the need for a greater dynamic difference between the verse and chorus. We are discussing how to best address those concerns. Neither Sabrina and I are inclined to walk away from the song.

r u willing to try stripping the Verse(s) down to just drums & bass under the vocal?
then go big, with stacked vocals the 2nd time the Chorus comes around?

Yes, I am willing to do that. However, stripping it down creates another set of problems. Not just any old bass and drum sounds will do. Since I don't have much experience with this kind of music, I don't know what sounds are current and what sounds are dated. Thanks for caring enough to offer suggestions. It means a lot. I'll keep you updated as to further developments. Until then, it is back to instrumentals and cues.

Here is the latest incarnation of "Too Ghoul For School". This is a result of your comments. Let me know if it works better.

FWIW: liking the Intro and all the stripped-down parts - makes it so much more about the vocal/s - easier to grasp the lyrics.
To these Old-Guy ears - all of that really helps the focus. Great improvements, and a fun listen, IMHO.
The only thing 'missing' (will others agree?) sorta expected a full-in 2/4 back beat at :52, just for the Chorus to "pop"; then back off.
Would like to read what other comments will be.
HTH, cheers;
Peter

Great! I agree about the half time feel in the pre-chorus. I'll see what I can do.

Yep - now it's got a pulse (no dead-monster pun intended)...
still hope you get some more/diverse feedback.
FWIW: the panning percussion 'clicks' stirs an image of flittering bats/bat-wings (if I were making a video of it - that's when I'd introduce them, going back-n-forth).
