Hi Max,

This is a good composition.... BUT
Here is what I see as being problem areas:

Your track does not sound like 'victory over adversity!' ...it sounds like the title...Romantic Landscape.

The listing says they want ' keyboard or strings'.... the first 20 seconds of your track is French horn.
The first 20 seconds should be cut out completely … start with the strings.

When the string ensemble does come in.... it sounds very midi.
it sounds like everything has the same velocity.

Also it sounds like a keyboard playing a string part.... all the swells are the same
Where the violin stops playing at about :50 does not sound realistic enough... it is very abrupt.
Also the ending is very abrupt... an orchestra would not stop that abruptly...maybe it just got chopped off on Soundcloud.

I'm not trying to be harsh..... just telling it like it is..... THIS WILL HELP YOU IN THE LONG RUN!!!!
Keep working on it!

Tim

Max,

I agree with Tim. Humanizing the strings will go a long way with little imperfections in timing and variations in velocity.

It's also good practice to include the listing information you're planning on submitting to. This helps those that are giving feedback to have access to the info and your song all in one spot, which increases your chances of getting good feedback.

Hope that helps!

Andrew

Hi Max.

I just gave it a listen, and I agree with what everyone else has said. I don't have a virtual instruments bank, just what's in my keyboard, which is why I don't often submit to great listings like this. If you can afford to get a good sound library, I'd say go for it. ($ is a problem for me.) It's a lovely composition, and it deserves the best you can get for it.
You might see if someone in TAXI who does have a good string library could record it for you as a Work For Hire if that wouldn't be too expensive for you.
Best of luck with it. I really like it!

Merry
