Plucky strings landed me my first deal!

Post by cantilena » Mon Apr 12, 2021 4:23 pm

Hey all! I'm so happy to report that I got my very first contract with a music library!

I heard from them about 24 hours after my tracks were forwarded. The owner was so excited by my music that he wrote to me on Easter weekend.

I've been working hard for a little over a year now, submitting music to TAXI regularly. I've composed and sent in over 70 tracks. I was prepared to wait longer for some success, but I'm happy that it happened now. :D

Here are my pieces, if you'd like to check them out:

Your Shoe's Undone
Trip to Tahiti

Onward and upward! (Or "excelsior", if you're a Marvel fan...)

Congratulations! No surprise those were signed, and I reckon you will not wait longer to know they have been used somewhere :)

Very nice !

I really like your tracks...I can hear them on TV already. Great work and congrats.

Very minor piece of advice - Some databases/systems don't accept titles with punctuation/special characters in them so be careful with " Shoe's " if you have to enter the track titles yourself. Probably best to take it out if you have the option and just put the grammatically incorrect " shoes "instead.

Good Luck with it !

Mark

Thanks, Marco! My head is swelling already. lol. The library that signed them is putting together a whole album in this style. Apparently there's not a lot similar out there right now, so hopefully it fills a need somewhere.

Thanks, Mark! I'm glad you like them.

And thanks for the advice. I will keep it in mind for future titles. No worries on this one - the library owner is going to rename it in any case, so I think I'm safe! ;)

(Good thing, too - I HATE to see missing apostrophes in titles!! LOL. "shoes" could have soured the whole deal.)
