Garage band alternative

Post by punchcountry » Thu Jul 31, 2008 4:56 pm

Hope this is the right forum for this question (new here). I've read several threads and can't seem to find the answer I'm looking for. If this topic is already out there and I missed it, a link to the thread would be great. What is the best program to use for making and composing computer generated music for non-Mac computers? Is there one that compares to the garage band program? If you bought one which would it be?I think a poll would be helpful here.thanks, I appreciate your feed back.punchcountry.....

I don't own, use or endorse this software but Computer Music says: "Acoustica have a little something up their sleeves in the shape of Mixcraft 3, an audio/MIDI sequencer that bears more than a passing resemblance to Apple's easy-to-use music production software....Mixcraft 4 has clearly been influenced by GarageBand in terms of both visual appearance and functionality."Link to Mixcraft:http://www.acoustica.com/mixcraft/Personally, Ableton Live gets my vote !! I've used Cubase LE and SX for the last several years and they are good tools, although very comprehensive and possibly difficult to learn. Then again, every sequencing program takes time to learn.I'm using Logic Studio Pro now -- Outstanding! But it's expensive
Through square conduct, level steps, and upright intentions, we can achieve anything.
