Quote:it would be easy for a lazy, unethical composer to submit the unadorned song as their own."Unethical" might be a little strong; after all you've ARE using a loop library, not a commercially released track...but where do you draw the line? I'd consider this more of a legal issue than a moral one. Quote:You don't want a client to get sued because you unwittingly used an uncleared loop. That's a career killer if I've ever see one!Agreed that this will irk any client, but ideally [for the client] you've provided or signed a contract that releases them from responsibility should such a suit arise...in which case your reputation may be only half your problem. Glad to see you're still around Mazz!André

Quote:If you're using drum loops, audio versions are just about as easy to edit to custom time signatures as midi versions (if a bit less flexible) thanks to their, ahem, "percussive" nature. I wouldn't let your specific needs steer you away from using them.Andre thanks....where would I look for this?...wheels are turnin' Ibanez and Mazz.....cool I'll check into it.....they don't list audition as a supported program, but it's worth it to ask........just spent 4 hours with the Battery Demo...and it doesn't seem to make loops Adobe audition 2 has VST and should work...I thought of buying the upgrade for Audition, but there is alot online about bugs in the VST area...I have an old Logic and Cakewalk...maybe i can get Addictive drums to work in one of those....I never learned logic, and the old one seemed counterintuitive, so I hope it doesn't want to work in there,,,,thanks so much....I went through all my critiques recently, and it seems I have 5 save-able electronicas if I fix the drums.....urgggthe old Cakewalk has many features for sub-dividing beats 1 through 12...yes 7's and sixes....and tempo drawing with circles....I don't know that many programs that can do this.....maybe I should learn to replace the midi? very new to this....thanks so much....Vicky
