Re: Sampled piano comparisons resource
You really have to play sampled pianos to get a feel for them. It's very difficult to compare them with demos. The best ones today have come a long way, though. Ivory is great, especially the Italian Grand. The PAV Blüthner Digital Model One is pretty great, Art Vista Virtual Grand is also good, there's the Galaxy II Grand Piano Collection. Sampletekk's piano for Reason is very good, which makes me think their pianos would be better...in fact Pianoteq, which uses additive synthesis, does a lot of things really well. Sampletekk sells the Post pianos, which are great for blending with an orchestra. They all sound different and respond differently to your fingers. As matto says, it's very difficult to get the best sound out of a sampled piano with a sequence played using another one. Also, you don't get a feel for the pedal-up and -down samples unless you play the instrument close up.

Re: Sampled piano comparisons resource
Great post!Compared my Akoustik Piano up against Ivory (and some others) in that one. Result: Ill stick with NI´s Akoustic Piano for now, there is so many other investments that is more important to me.Frankly I liked the NI better. When all comes to an end I don´t produce piano solo concerts after all. Thanks again.
