Also regarding cell phone related noise. Keep bluetooth stuff turned off or away from your studio! I work at a university and student blue tooth devices make all of our wireless equipment and speakers go nuts!

Actually, there may be a really cheap quick fix, ive been around home studios too long, but a lot of time if you get some ferite beads from radio shack and attach em to your connectors, wallah!, instant interference reduction, it's definitely worth a try, as I've seen it completely clean some of the line noise issues I have helped people with, and ferite beads dont cost an arm and a leg. Also, picking up radio stations, ive found, is really common if your wires are too long, cause then you tend to coil them or they make big loops on the floor, and THAT is acting like an antenna, so I would check for any large loops of wires or coiled wires, and see if they are causeing the problem, if they are and you cant afford swappin to a smaller wire, then ferrite beads are definitely a good investment.
