Backup Strategies

Post by mazz » Sun Dec 10, 2006 1:17 pm

Hello,I'm sure this has been covered before but here goes:As a computer based composer, I find I am generating lots and lots of audio files. I've moved to 24bit (44.1) so the files are getting bigger and bigger. As I've just embarked on a new composing adventure, it's obvious that the data is going to grow faster and faster. How do folks manage all the data and particularly backing up?Some ideas I've been thinking about:1. Removable hard drives2. DVD backup (would mean tons of DVDs)How do you catalog the drives/disks so you can find sessions for re-mixing, etc?I've been using iTunes for keeping track of mixes/versions. What do others use? Thanks,John Mazzei
