Which Soundcard?
I`m running a dell laptop with a Mackie Onyx firewire desk! I`m gonna buy a soundcard new but I`m currently using a Soundblaster so I don`t know much about them! If I want to record 8 simultaneous mics with the mixer can I use the firewire or do I need 8 inputs on the soundcard also? Which one will I buy? How much are they? Thanks guys!!

The Onyx *is* your sound card! You just need a FireWire PC card for your laptop (if it doesn't have a Firewire connection already).

Cheers man! I thought that alright! Is this the case for all desks or just firewire desks?

It's certainly not the case with all desks, but if you see FireWire on it, it's a digital bus for connecting directly to a computer.

Re: Which Soundcard?
I understand!! Up until now I have just recorded one track at a time over drum loops!! But, how do I record all 8 channels on the Mackie onto 8 different tracks on Cubase?
