My gosh Jeffe, you list these songs by about the 14th act to record them. Whiskey in the Jar is a heck of a lot older than anyone in Thin Lizzy. And The Animals--granted they did a nice job but... And you are a songwriter (shame!).

I have heard a lot of others, but I've pointed out the most well known one. Well. It was the most well known here.

I used to play with this big country boy (6'7") who could really sing. He was barely twenty-one and new at playing bars. An authentic innocent. One night he introduced Stand By Me as a Mickey Gilley song.Oh...you wanted a song with a killer hook. Okay, I just dredged another one; come on in and sit down. But this one is different. It's hook is the feel of it as the title is sung, though the title itself is not the hook:Smooth Operator.
