Rally.....Last day..it's sad that it's over

Post by davidvignola » Sun Nov 08, 2009 5:26 am

Well it's Sunday morning here in LA and the Rally is on it's last leg for this year. I must say that I was completely blown away by all the great panels and people here at the rally. This is my first year and I am so glad I decided to come. I learned more in one weekend about the craft of songwriting and placement into TV and Film then I have learned on my own in the last 3 years with out a doubt. If you are a member of taxi and you have not been to a road rally, you need to get to next's years rally. It will be the best thing you can do for yourself in this business. My wife and I have been taking pages and pages of notes at all the different workshops. We are both song writers and we decided to split up all weekend so we could attend as many workshops as possible and take notes so we could share with each other later.Last night we decided that it would be a nice to post all of our notes by workshop on our website in PDF format once we return, so other members could use the information. You will be able to download the PDF to your computer. So, late next week we will do just that. I will post a message here on the forum once it's complete. YES it completely FREE!! I would never try to charge anyone here for something like that. We have met some many great people and we fell like we kind of met a new family and we look forward to continuing our friendships with these people after the weekend is over for sure. It also made me happy to help some members who are completely brand new to music placement and the music business. Some had no idea what a PRO was or how to market themselves on the internet. I was happy to send these members several links to different websites of information to help them get started. Finally I would like to thank Michael and all of the Taxi staff. These people pulled off one hell of an event and everything was well organized and professionally done. I can say as a first year member of taxi that I was completely blown away by their professionalism and overall knowledge of the music business. I look forward to meeting more of you at next years rally and in the meantime my wife and I are going to take in all that we learned this weekend and put it to use in our craft. Hopefully one day I can be sitting on the panel with the other taxi members sharing my story with all of you. I have a pretty interesting one that may inspire some others. For now let’s just say that I left my very successful corporate position in this economy to follow my dreams of being a full time musician and although music placement is only one stream of income I am hoping to generate, it’s going to be one for sure. So until next years rally good luck to all the members with their musical dreams.
