Book Room What Exactly Is It?

Post by gerigates » Sun Oct 26, 2008 10:23 am

What exactly is the Book Room that's been mentioned? I am understanding it to be the room in which one goes to book or reserve a placement in one or more Rally Happening such as Mentor Sessions. Or is it actually a room where books on Songwriting & The Music Business are available? Are there books available at the Rally as well as other music related stuff for sale?

There is a room where the mentors and other sponsors sell their books, tapes, cd's, lessons, etc. Some of them who offer private time/consultations at the rally usually direct you to their team at one of those tables to reserve a slot.

Sometimes they are there in person & you can chat with them. You wouldn't go there to book your Taxi Member Free Mentor Appointment. That will be near the Rally registration desk, and you'll be told where to go for that when you register.

I don't know about videos/DVDs, I tend to gravitate to books cause I can read them anywhere. There will also be a space somewhere for the sponsers, who will be selling all kinds of gear at a discounted price as well - keyboards, guitars, mics, etc etc etc.

I purchased Joann Ledesma's book "Prepare your music - a practical guide " to the music business - good information in this book. Tell her I want a commision if you buy it because of me : )JUST KIDDING - I don't work for her or taxi or anyone else and I certainly wouldn't get a commission on her book sales!!

How much money should one bring to spend at the Rally? And what are some the things that members would want to purchase?

Maybe $50?They had some great guitars on sale last year... free shipping home... I was very very tempted. Lots of other gear there as well. Those things are, as you can imagine, much more expensive.
