Calypso Island / Taxi Robin Helps R-man
HI Guy's....I should be happy for the forward but I'm kinda disappointed that the other (2) which I think are right on the money for this listing, were shot down especially my favorite Island Memory...Same screener shot the (2) down, while different screener forwarded the smooth Jazz track...Go figure....I think I'm going to the screener shoot out on this one..Have a listen to the (3) and u's tell me...Well Here They R..fORWARDED ONE FIRST...Jay...r-man.... http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... tream=true

Re: Calypso Island / (1) go/ (2) no? -bummed
Jay,If you have achieved a favorable introduction thru this forward to this (for me anyway) new library, I don't think you should necessarily feel bummed that the other two didn't make it thru. You still have a favorable introduction and if a contact is made by the library you have two more tracks all ready to pitch. Is the glass half empty or half full???If you wanted to meet Hans Zimmer and it took 50 unsuccessful tries to finally get a favorable introduction, would you be bummed out that 49 tries didn't work or excited that the 1 did? Just some thoughts on the process of returns and forwards.Chuck

Chuck.....Your wisdom definitely shows off your class...You are 100% right....I know u know how frustrated u get when u work so hard on something that u know is a flyer, and it gets muffed!! Then u go to the forwards and hear somebody Else's song, and it's almost the same as the one that got shot down..Same feel, same steel drums, same everything. Now your really smokin.. But then u cool down a little and u learn to deal with it. But then somebody like u comes along and gives u a whole new perspective on the whole thing, and every thing looks a lot better... THANKS for the Insight....Jay..r-man..

Re: Calypso Island / Taxi Robin Helps R-man
Well guy's........Got a e-mail from Robin..from Taxi..Didn't know she is the chief screener for Taxi.. She is a very nice Lady..She took the time to go over my 2 returned songs and gave me a custom critique that opened my eyes to something I wasn't paying attention to..And guess what...The Critique was FREE!!!1) Songs were right for listing..But the performances were not up to par2) The Marimba solo was sloppy and there was some double notes..3) Library's prefer endings no fade outs..I know someone just told me that 2 days ago..3) Steel Drum is pitchy with cord changes...4) and more I didn't know how teckno this TV..Movie stuff is but I know now !! Problem is what Dave W. said, if your pitching for listings that u don't get critiques back, u don't know whats going on with your performances...So Thank u Robin Frederick for opening my eyes 2 these problems, and of course 2 all u's out there for your help !! I will do things different from now on ,and listen more carefully. I have 2 admit , my ego is hurt a little.. But I'll swallow itAnd just keep going...Jay....

You'll get over it, and eventually, under it, around it, thru it, whatever ya' have ta' do ta' get it right! S'part of the process, no doubt.I-468PS --BTW, CONGRATS on the forward!!!
