wooHOO! (now, with lyrics!!)
I posted this up as a raw melody about a month ago, and I was very happy with your comments and encouragements.I don't believe for one minute that this is "great" or even anywhere near finished, but I finally have been able to put some words to my melody (with the help of my friend, Mike McFaden).Let me know what you think, please. What's good? What's strong? What stinks? Thanks, y'all.Tedwww.TAXI.com/tedsingingfoxScroll all the way down to the bottom and click on "wooHOO!"Here are the lyrics:wooHOO!I was eating dinner alone with my thoughts at Charlie's GrilleAnother cup of coffee and another slice of time to killThen through the window I caught her eye before she turned to cross that streetAnd that's when I lept to my feet and my heart sangwooHOO! Hey, you!Aw girl, can't you hear me callingwooHOO! Who knew?Just one look and I swear I'm falling and I'm thinking I could love youHow I got the nerve up to run after her I couldn't sayAll I knew was I wasn't going to let her get awayAnd then it happened she hit me with a smile bright as the morning sunAnd that's when I knew she was the one and this old heart sangwooHOO! Hey, you!Aw, girl, can't you hear me callingwooHOO! Who knew?Just one look and I swear I'm falling and I'm thinking I could love youNow there's an organ playing and all the guests are prayingHere comes the preacher saying Do YouwooHOO! I doAw, girl, this ain't no time for stallingwooHOO! She said it too!Two little words and the tears start fallingwooHOO! wooHOO!One look at you and my future's calling and I'm always going to love you

I really enjoyed this Ted. I remember you posted it before and the lyrics are the perfect complement to the fun feel good melody! My favourite parts are the bridge and the tag at the end of the chorus. I got this stuck in my head now!

hi Ted!well, i like this effort allot, just think this draft has a few to many little "connector" words, trim them IMHO.in the chorus, i kinda liked it stopping right before the quick words "and i'm thinking i can love you"--yeah , listening again, i can hear it ending with "i swear i'm fallin'"actually think that faster paced bit could serve as a great break--you have your bridge....just a thought, wouldn't be hard...my rudimentary suggestion would be to put that quick line in someplace else...intro? hmm..great progress, still hear this tunes potential, keep up the good work!the best,warrenPS--another slice of time to kill is a GREAT line IMHO...but not too crazy about the "morning sun" line, a bit too cliche, no?

Yes, I've heard this one beforE I believe... if I recall correctly it wasn't as produced... didn't have perc yet...I would like to hear a bassline on a fat bass and some live strings... violin or perhaps fiddle... fiddle better...Good tune still!Nice title... IMO...Kel

Like it even better that it got stuck in your head. I figure that's a good sign.Ted

FINALLY, the third week, we simply shut off the "editor" in our brains and filled in the blanks.Never HAVE been happy with that "morning sun" line, but we needed something to work with...no matter how cliched it was. Thanks for the feedback.Ted

FWIW, I ain't spending a DIME on demo-ing this until the lyrics are MUCH more solid. that's just a built-in rhythm on my Yamaha keyboard, strictly as a metronome. But when it IS demo-ed (and I'm pretty sure this one will be sooner or later), I can promise you a big fat bass line and some serious fiddle. Thanks, again.Ted
