Solitude - critique welcomed

Wondered what others felt about this tune. An old one that a friend of mine and I wrote back in 1993. http://www.taximusic.com/download/21126 ... e.mp3Shawn

Nice tune, with a decent hook. Might be a bit repetitive to me, the chorus isn't that distinct from the verse, but there have been plenty of successful songs where that was the case.Production is OK, but you might get busted on 'Broadcast Quality' with it. The sounds are pretty dull with a lot of mid range pile up particularly between the pianny and geetars. Drums are a bit too inert too.Great song, really nice vocal. Best of luck with this one!Erich

Shawn,Vocals were clear and upfront.....really niceThe instruments all seem to be vying for the same space in the mix.Since it was recorded back in '93....can you still tweak the instruments w/ eq, etc.Regards,Dick

Hey allThanks for the responses. In 1993, as now, I am STILL trying to be the sensitive singer songwriter!!!!I agree about the variation part and hoped the M8 would do it. Will maybe play around with this, especially the chorus.I need to learn alot more about production/eq etc. I am still vague on this. Dick - song was written in '93 but recording this year so ample room to do stuff with. May look at making it a bit more rocky - I do remember Live so this may add something to it.Thanks all once again.Shawn
