"End like this" - Parental Advisory [Rock Ballad]

Post by rkat » Thu Apr 30, 2009 2:18 pm

First apologies if the lyrics offend anyone. Serious, parental advisory on this!!! This is not my norm lyric wise, but sometimes we write from the heart right? Guess what just happened to me (after you hear the song).Feedback on broadcast quality mainly, and overall sound / mix / etc. If you like the song too, thats cool! Damn. Sorry, man.The chorus is catchy, especially "every single f'in day". I found the anger fresh at the beginning, and tired of it a bit by the end. Enjoyed the tune. It's certainly a universal theme.Liked the production. I found myself thinking about the drum sounds a little bit. The string parts are really cool.Cheers.

Hey, I thought you did a great job on it. Of course... I've been there. I hear ya.Agree w/Cdub, it's a bit long. Maybe trim a minute in the middle somewhere.I'm reminded of Creed or Nickelback or something similar. If you need more venting, PM me... I can point you to a forum that helps in just such a circumstance.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I will trim off the first piano part before the bass line and a couple of bars of the guitars after the second chorus. That should bring it around 3:40.Lyricboy, it's cool but thanks. I got a few decent songs out of her

I have shortened the song a little and totally remixed it. Spent some time really listening and to other songs in this genre. I think the mix is better. Opinions?New Mixhttp://grissettllc.com/music/end-like-this-05-01-09-C.mp3Also made a censored version http://grissettllc.com/music/end-like-t ... 1-09-A.mp3

The production is solid. Most of the tones are authentic sounding, the strings are a little obvious though, try softening the attack or something? You have a great voice for rock/ballads, kinda reminded me of Bryan Adams....hope I didn't offend ya there? Your seriously limiting your audience by having so many curse words in the song. If your just venting then obviously your not worried bout your audience but if you plan on pitching it to something then you should think about substituting the words.Colm.
