Re: Boom Goes The Dynamite!
This is a really good song on a lot of levels! The guts of the song are there but you need to do some tweaking. First off, the drums don't sparkle to me and the bass seems rather dull sounding. I can barely make out an acoustic rhythm which the song really needs for a "down home" flavor. The sound of this acoustic would be really important to make this one go and should sort of ching all the way through. The lead guitar is a bit twingy, twangy and you should consider boosting some mids. I think there is a slide solo, maybe dobro, I couldn't hear it well enough to be sure. I like your singing but then I like everything I can't do... The vocals are almost there but a bit of intonation problems here and there. I sort of like having the backing vocals panned close to the lead but I could use more of them. Your intonation will have to be dead on that close to your backing lines... Most of this is just mixdown issues and pretty easy to fix. You just need to give this good song a few nudges to make it great!Good Luck!Keith
I hear the voice of God in a bending guitar string!

Keith:I appreciate the feedback. Mixing is my weakness so I'm glad to get the advice. I agree about the acoustic. Unfortunately I don't know my mixing software well enough yet. Thanks for listening!

McC,This is well done--good singing, well recorded and mixed. Keith has some great advice above.Main critical comment I have is the chorus melody/harmony is uncomfortable close to a country song called, "That's My Story (and I'm Stickin' to It).Vince

Vince:Thanks for the kind words. Is this the song you are referring to?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quAbyTTPUtcI agree the prechorus is similar but that's the only thing that stands out to me. To be honest, I am not a country music fan at all. I had never heard of this song. Thanks for listening, I appreciate the compliments.MC

MC wow this is dang catchy.. a great melody all over.. and a big thing for me... it really FLOWS from section to section... what I like to think of as song feng shui.I agree the production needs work as said above... mainly in instrumentation, as the vocal is strong. But this is sounds like a HIT to me!
