Re: The Fools You Bet On
Vocals still sound like you have some sort of chorus or off center panning.Center placement with stereo reverb is probably a better way to go for this type song. The vocals sound good, you don't need to re record, just confidence that centered with reverb is all you need.Since you are always compared to Lightfoot, visit his site and listen to his vocal placement and treatment...can't go wrong emulating him. http://www.myspace.com/gordonlightfootofficial

Re: The Fools You Bet On
For me, the instrumentation seems a bit thick, up front and competing with the vocals. I would like to hear more air...more sparse instrumentation with some creative panning. The electric guitar at about 1:08 is cool. Maybe panned out to it's own space with some echo or reverb would make even more effective. Same with the very nice guitar at about 3:00. Hamonically, everything works well together but again it just seems a bit thick. At about 2:08 things thin out a bit...it's just piano and (I think) one guitar ... that sounds soothing to me. The quality of your voice is perfect for the tune and is certainly good enough to support a minimal instrumental backdrop.Reminds me of Harry Chapin. Good song.-Randy

Lightfoot? Chapin? Reminded me of Steven Stills.

Hi Wig. I've been gone for a while and it seems many of the old regulars have disappeared. You have a very distinctive voice and style that's very pleasing. "The Fools You Bet On" is a great title. From a production standpoint, I agree with ice's comment about the instrumentation being too upfront. I'd also say the drums were too busy at times with fills. There were also a few times when the guitar seemed slightly out of time, which of course detracts from the experience a bit.Vince
