1st submission since Aug - 2 of 3 forwarded
We haven't submitted anything since last Aug. Just been too busy. Just signed back up for Dispatch Mon and got forwarded on first try. 2 of the 3 we submitted for the listing were forwarded. The listing was # D080324UR URBAN/HIP HOP INSTRUMENTAL COMPOSERS needed by the Music Supervisor for an extremely popular daytime talk show. This listing has run in the regular listings already(S080319UR), but the need has become quite urgent. All submissions will be evaluated equally, but he’d like to hear some choices now - in addition to the regular submissions that will be sent to him shortly. He has several TAXI composers under his roof already and has had hundreds of placements on this show in the last year. He needs someone who can write a wide variety of Hip Hop Instrumentals as background music for the show’s stories, profiles, and vignettes. You should also have top-of-the-line software and samples on hand and represented in your submissions. He’d like someone with experience scoring and sync-ing to film/TV [though not necessary] and who has high speed internet service at home/studio [this IS necessary]. You must also be based in the United States -- he cannot work with international composers for this particular project. It is vital that you are responsible with deadlines and are able to deliver on time. You must also be a "team player". He's not interested in someone who has a huge ego and will be difficult to work with. Since your TAXI submissions will not be used for the show [if chosen, you'll instead write original pieces], Master Quality is preferred - he wants to hear what you can do. Please submit one to three 1:30-2:00 INSTRUMENTAL etc...The first 2 were forwarded the 3rd was returned.I Can Sing Opera Toohttp://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_id=113751&stream=1Can't Keep 'em Off (this one has lyrics also, but sent INST)http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... eam=1Money is My Occupation (NOT FORWARDED)http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... stream=1If you notice the one that's more overtly HipHop to me was returned. We sent a variety just trying to figure out what exactly was needed.IBANEZ - this is why I was asking about URBAN the other day.

Hey Che,A HUGE Congrats to ya'! Glad to see you were able to get past one gate keeper. One more ta' go. That's great! Happy for ya'! 67% is a good number in my book! Was a good question to ask. Sometimes it might take a while to get a feel for what's needed (I know it did for me, and I'm still workin' at it) but to be able to throw 3 tunes out there, and get some positive feedback, was a good move IMO. So now, at least you know where you stand, and what was needed. Good job! Here's all the best to ya' and I hope ya' land the deal!ibanez468

Jude,That sucks that yours were returned. We weren't 100% sure what they were going for so we tried to mix it up. Believe me we had several more that are a similar style as I Can sing Opera Too, but decided to mix it up just to see. Oh well!Steve,We've had Dispatch before, but joined again mainly for this listing too. Didn't submit to the regular listing though. Congrats to you to for getting all 3 forwarded. That's great. Do either of you know what # your screener was?
