Modern Rock/Hard Rock instumentals
I'm working on something that I'd like to submit to the following listing:MODERN ROCK/HARD ROCK INSTRUMENTALS are wanted by a very successful Production Music Library who has placements with ABC, CBS, NBC, WB, Disney, Discovery, Lifetime, Fox, USA, etc. (to name just a few). It's vital that the tracks have a lot of variation and dynamic shifts, with momentum and build. You'll want to focus on high energy, uptempo tracks with a clear forward movement and compelling dynamics. The tune is here:http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... ream=trueI always struggle mixing distorted guitars and this time is no exception. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Any other types of listings this might work for?Bryan

Hey Bryan,The idea sounds great, although I am no Rock expert. Is that EZ drummer I hear? Drums sound midi. Some better drums would take the tune over the top.Guitar chops are awesome. You may want to consider giving it an ending.Overall cool tune

Re: Modern Rock/Hard Rock instumentals
Killer guitar. Nice tune overall. The main guitar melody is still with me after I listened to the track. As to whether it's a good fit for the listing... I say it's worth a shot, it has the high energy requested. I tend to agree with Iboogie77 about the ending, though an argument could be made as to fading the song off like you did.The guitar tone sounds more "metal" to me than Hard Rock, but as I am finding out, these type things are open to Taxi and their clients interpretation and not mine... so it very well could be within the range they seek.Any instrumental listing requesting high energy/Rock/Metal would be a good fit IMHO.Foglyte

Hey Bryan.....I second the great guitar chops comment.....I also agree with giving it an ending..... I think that's always a smart move with instrumentals...I think the midi drums comment comes out of the fact the loop doesn't change... try to mix in a feel change or two....I'm on laptop speakers but I'm hearing something.... it's a click or something on the one beat... maybe a cymbal mixed too hot? During the chorus section it's more of a buzz..... anyone else hear it?It's a good track, just a little tweaking...Peace, Geo

Re: Modern Rock/Hard Rock instumentals
Hey all, thanks for replying to this. It is easydrummer and I have gone back and added some variety to the beat to hopefully hide it's origins a bit better. I listened again for that clicking sound and you were right, one of my background pulses had some percusive clicks that I agree, were kind of getting in the way. I eq'd em out and I think its cleaner. I went ahead and added an ending and submitted it to a listing. We'll see what happens...Bryan
