Sounds like something out of the melodic rock of the late 80's. The lyrics lack originality, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Needs some more contrast between verses and chorus. I think the intro is too long. Needs some updating if going to be used for current listings, in my view (of course, this is all only my view). Good luck with it.

From the FAQs in General Hangout:Q: How do I link to my taxi music page?A: What name did you use when you signed up for your music account? Let's assume it was "myname"... E.G.http://www.taxi.com/myname If you signed up as "my name" with a space inbetween, then it would be http://www.taxi.com/my_name-----Q: How do I link to a song on my taxi music page?A: I think it depends on your system, but I go to my page, *right-click* on the "play" button of the song, and choose *copy short-cut*. Then I come into the forum and "paste" the short-cut into my post, using "CTRL V" OR you can go to your *edit* menu and choose "paste".

I think it generally sounds like a good classic rock tune. I am more of an R&B / jazz/ pop guy, so keep that in mind! I think it does sound a little dated IMO. That might be the chord progression itself, or maybe the chord rhythmic pattern. What type of band were you listening too when you wrote this? I find that my listening preferences influence my writing and maybe that's the case here.Charlie

I've had numerous people say it sounds like i'm doing 80's retro but I was trying to be more contemporary like Nickelback. But I"m more of a musician than an engineer so I appreciate any feedback on things I can physically play or change to make the song more contemporary - thanks

hey man,lot of talent/potential here. but yeah, your buddies are right, this has a DEFINITE '80s feel to it. i don't know how you can make this sound more "contemporary", frankly. maybe, don't use the distorted guitar throughout the track in the way you did. The organ and synth also give it an '80s feel, plus the drums and the drumline (it's straightness) make it sound like that. hope that helps, raman
