Re: Is this 'good' close or 'bad' close
Hey bigbluei'm using pro tools le 7.4, digi 003 factory bundle, the drums are programmed using BFD le, i mix inside of protools. i would like to upgrade very soon to the newest bfd. I'm not digging the snare sounds that i have. my mixes aren't the greatest, but i've been doing as much reading and research as i can on the process of mixing and mastering, and each track i record is sounding better and better. how do you get you sounds??mike

hey Mike, I'm using Pro Tools LE 7.3 with the digi 003. I didn't get the factory bundle. I'm using EZ Drummer and also have the Drumkit From Hell Expansion Pack to go with it. I'm mixing inside of Pro Tools as well. I'm right there with you on the mixes. It's a new process for me that I'm having to learn. I think I'm getting better at it but I know I have so much farther to go. I'm going to a free seminar this weekend that deals with advanced production and mixing techniques so hopefully I'll be able to pick something up from that. I tend to learn best when I have someone show me how to do something and then explain to me why they did it. I can get a lot out of a book too, but I just learn better when I'm right there next to the person.
Imagine a steel cage match between Daughtry, Coldplay, Paramore and Demon Hunter with Joe Satriani as the referee...
