Streaming problems, does this mp3 play for you?

Post by teleblaster » Thu Jan 31, 2008 4:54 am

I've been having problems with streaming the mp3s on my TAXI hosting site. It used to be that the songs would play fine everywhere but on the PC I use as my DAW, so I just shined it off. This song:http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... eam=trueIs failing to stream on all my PCs (they're using WMP).Could a few of you try playing it and let me know if a) it plays for you, and b) what player you are using. Any thoughts/critiques about the song are welcome too (assuming you can play it)Might be time to give WMP the boot. Very strange that the same song will play through WMP when launched locally from my hd. It will play when I upload it to soundclick(SC has it's own built in player though), but won't stream from my TAXI site through WMP.I just submitted this for the Hi Octane listing, so I'm a bit worried that it won't play for the TAXI reviewers (yikes ) Thanks in advance

It plays fine for me.also, i wouldn't worry about the screeners having problems listening, as I believe they here a higher quality copy then the one that streams. For some reason clicking on the taxi links have always given me problems, the best way for me to get them to work is as follows:I copy the link location (right/opt click)open Quick timeselect "Open URL" from the file menupaste url and that should do it.

teleblaster,This is the message I got:"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The file is either corrupt or the Player does not support the format you are trying to play."I've seen this happen before a few times trying to listen to others tunes, but I don't know the fix for it.ibanez468

Hey Tele,I have the same problem with your link as Ibanez.I'm using WMP and I had a problem with one other link of yours as well. Here's a link to one of my songs that looks the same as your, but it works.http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... ream=trueI don't know why it happens with some and not with others.

Well, I guess the main thing is that the reviewers can hear it. Vicky, are you using WMP or some other player. So far, it appears that the problem is only with WMP, and that if it's bad for one WMP it's bad for all of them...The fact that the file plays locally for me through WMP, but doesn't stream is really strange though. I wonder if the TAXI site is adding some content to the stream that makes WMP 'wimp' out? Thanks all for the help!

Works for me. I use the iTunes which automatically opens for me. Sounds good.

I got the same message that Ibanez reported above.
