I'm not going to bore you guys with a life story. I'm straight forward so I'm going to get to the point. Ive been affiliated with Taxi since June 07 and no I don't expect to become a star overnight actually I don't have any desires to be a star. My ambitions are other stories maybe I will share that later. I had the opportunity to get away from music for a few days I decided before I got back grinding that I would evaluate my situation. I asked myself what will taxi do for you. I told myself I can not please everyone and I realized that there are so many experts and decision makers in this game. I asked myslef what will it take for me to be sucessful in the highly competive music industry. For the record I couldn't tell you who held the last 5 #1 albums, couldn't recite a line from their song(s) did not purchase it or used lime wire to download it. Never the less that project was successful. Solja Boy is a perfect example with the crank that superman or whatever the hell the name of the song is. Any time I heard it on the air I was tempted to throw my radio out the window. Suddenly I had an epiphany I was able to keep everything in perspective.

Re: Soul Searching
Hey reg,All I can tell u is, I'm always tempted to throw my radio out the window, turn the radio station to somethin' else, or just turn it off completely. Some of the stuff I hear just totally perplexes me. And I couldn't tell ya' who held the last 5 #1 albums, or be able to recite too many lines either. They're all forgotten anyway, unless they happen to pop back up on the radio. And definitely have made NOT one, single, solitary purchase of any of it. I don't know what your goals are exactly, but the question is, have you gotten along any further without the use of TAXI? What other platforms are available for your music to be heard and possibly get placed in something of some significance? If you have those things available to you, then you probably don't need TAXI. If you're going thru the self-doubt thing or the TAXI-doubt thing, I say squash all a dat', and get back in the game. There's a thread that was just posted about that very same thing, http://taxi.proboards27.com/index.cgi?b ... 1201486668 and alot people gave their thoughts on the subject, 'cause everyone's feeling the same thing from time to time. Trick is to get over it, and move on. The devil is always a busy little SOB, casting doubt & fear in the minds of those who'll accept it. Don't buy into it! That's all he wants anyway. I'm no bible thumper, but I believe in the power and spreading of negativity, and who better than him, can it possibly come from? If ya' had an epiphany, and you were able to keep everything in perspective, continue to ride that wave. That's the one that counts. ibanez468"What this power is, I cannot say. All I know is that it exists...and it becomes available only when you are in that state of mind in which you know EXACTLY what you want...and are fully determined not to quit until you get it." Re: Soul Searching
I think you'd be surprised at the number of people in the music world that don't listen to music...unless it's homework for something....personally I listen to talk radio when I'm driving.....I see ibanez468 Robbins the self help guru has mentioned some great "move on and get over it" advice....and much more....I'd add, that usually if you're still enjoying yourself, you're on your way ....good luck....keep writing...Vicky

Re: Soul Searching
I admit it, I don't listen to the radio, I hear more music while watching sports than listening to ala's, I don't suggest it, don't have a long line of forwards to back up my strategy, that's just me. I did listen intently when I first started writing, to learn structure, hooks etc. but to be honest now I don't have the time. I prefer to spend what little free time I have making my own music and getting joy from that and leave the radio alone. Hopefully your epiphany came with a great hook Creation is a most beautiful thing.... Geo
