Additional material requested by A&R!

Post by audiorayne » Thu Nov 29, 2007 5:49 am

Hi All,For anyone graciously following my thread about sending additional material to a music library A&R rep (http://taxi.proboards27.com/index.cgi?b ... 1196182341), here are two of the songs I had selected to send. Both are just guitar and vocal. I plan to put up a third one with fuller arrangement after some essential tweaking.“Leave Alone” http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... =true“Jokehttp://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... eam=trueIf these songs are crap, tell me straight up so I don't waste this A&R person's time with them. If they are salvageable, but need something more or something different, let me know! Thanks everyone!-AR

The songs aren't crap. Not a top ten hit maybe, but certainly don't chunk em.... but the recordings sound like demos, whereas the other two sound much more ready to go, these need a little work, both mix and performance wise. IMHO these two would be hard to place as is, but see what others say too. Me? I'd bring 'em up to par before sending. Quality over quantity every time. While I agree with guarding your professional commitments, I always guard quality over soft deadlines.btw-- I really dig your voice.Aub

HI!I like the songs and I think they would get better when you record them with a whole band sound. A bass groove and drums can bring much more energy to those songs. IMHO the hooks aren't strong enough for hit songs but as I said with a band you could turn them into powerful and moving rock songs.ByeMarcin

Thanks all for replying to this. Have to say, I wasn't expecting the comments on the vocals.. Cool! I posted a few other tunes in this thread: http://taxi.proboards27.com/index.cgi?b ... 1Hopefully one of these might be more appropriate to select for "updating" and sending off to the music library. “Hit The Ground” http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... true“World Of Expression” http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... tream=true “Without You” (probably the saddest song I’ve ever written, and hopefully the saddest I’ll ever write… ) http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... am=trueAny and all comments welcome, as usual!-AR
