Howdy johnhampt. I should have clarified that.This is one of those "reply to" or "opposite of" songs.Jerry Reed wrote and sang "East Bound And Down", the theme song for "Smokey And The Bandit" where the "Bandit" was trucking a load of beer from Texarkana "down" to Atlanta. Smokey, of course, was the highway patrol trying to catch him. In my version, the "Texas Lone Ranger" is "Westbound And Up", from Fort Worth to Cheyenne, trucking a load of steers. "Smokey And The Bandit" was a blockbuster movie, whereas "Smokey And The Lone Ranger" wouldn't have a chance of "getting out of Dodge". (Dodge City, Kansas, of course.)
