Hey, you!Well, first off.......any vocalist worth her salt would be more than happy to take a whack at this song.....it's fast, bright and the melody is too much fun to sing, lots of room for individual interpretation. I was already singing it before it was finished so it's memorable. So, for selling to another singer, you betcha, it's got what it takes.I really LOVE this song. I can't find anything wrong with it. Dangit! (you were hoping for something really critical but sorry....as a vocalist, this song is absolute chocolate).

Quote:You'll need to try and get past the production when listening to this. In my head I hear a Nelly Furtado song, but I know that is not what it sounds like right now. I'm going to need to collaborate to get this closer in sound. The song is meant to be very pop. There isn't a bridge yet, but any feedback on the song would be appreciated.Love Showed Up TodayGiven that you've said this is a rough draft I think you have a very good song as is,you also have a very commercial, likeable, listenable voice so why don't you think about doing it?

Great contrasts between verses and choruses and a simple message: 'searching for the innocence I knew, my heart is falling for you'. All good within the context and meant with the greatest possible respect.I am unsure about Nelly Furtado as a typical target for this. Her last three singles (with vocal excerpts) have been:Say It rightFrom my hands I could give youSomething that I madeFrom my mouth I could sing you another brick that I laidFrom my body I could show you a place God knowsYou should know the space is holyDo you really want to go?PromiscuousPromiscuous boyYou already knowThat I’m all yoursWhat you waiting for?Promiscuous girlYou're teasing meYou know what I wantAnd I got what you needManeaterEverybody look at me, meI walk in the door you start screamingCome on everybody whatcha here for?Move your body around like a nymphoEverybody get your necks to crack aroundAll you crazy people come on jump aroundI want to see you all on your knees, kneesYou either want to be with me, or be me!I think Nelly may be thinking more with her hormones than her heart (or head) these days (as many young female singers are) and may not be the best target for this song despite the implied edge in your lines like 'I played it hard, I left the line'.Loved the call and response in the second/third choruses and I loved those filtered arpeggio lines in all the choruses. This song, with production and mix, will definitely have a target. You'll have to work out where. All the best, amigo Liam

You're there then. I don't get how they're working the ala Cher thing with Nelly and Kylie but, whatever, they should know what they're doing, right? This song will fit that. I'd bet my shirt on it.P.S. Your voice is definitely bringin' some sexy back.

[quote author=songwriter board=peer thread=1189364133 post=1189382009]Michael - I just don't see the artist route fitting me. The songwriter route makes more sense, so I have to focus on that. [quote]I don't know what reasons you may have for saying this but based on what I hear from you on these boards I'm gonna lean more toward Michael's opinion The Director of A&R/Creative at one of the largest Publishers in the world is seeking amazing, very current-sounding POP-DANCE SONGS for a Female icon a la CHER. He's seeking songs that are a cross between Madonna's current style, Kylie Minogue, and Nelly Furtado's latest release, "Loose."It probably is Cher!!!! I still wonder if the lyrical drive isn't a bit young for this lisiting as you describe it.It's a good song, SW, don't get me wrong. I'm just thinking of target(t)ing. And remember, I know nothing!! Really. Just a silly 2c thrown in on the pile.As I said in my first post:'This song, with production and mix, will definitely have a target. You'll have to work out where.'Liam

Well, if it IS Cher, he's in. She'd do it. That woman still thinks she's in her 20s.I get whatcha sayin', Liam......it is very poppy sounding, reminds me a bit of Music and Lyrics soundtrack (I could only WISH this song was in there) but still up to date. I'd make it darker as a producer but that's the beauty of it, right? Someone else can do that.

That's the part I thought was the "poppiest" (is that even a word?).Now I have both you and chits whistling. I can't get more lucky if I was twins.
