Client-reviewed listings..forward/return?

Post by andreh » Sat Mar 29, 2008 2:05 pm

Hi Gang-I submitted a track for the recent Pussycat Dolls listings, which was to be reviewed by the listing party. In this case, what do you suppose my Taxi Music page will say as the scenario plays out? Right now it says "Pending," and a "Returned" will be clear enough...but how might the party's interest in the song be reflected on the Taxi site?Imagine a scenario where a "Forward" actually means landing a deal! Andrémy first instrumental deal came from a client-screened Forward. I was contacted about a month later to say that they were interested & working on the details. Signed the agreement about 4 months after the Forward. That being said, the "Forward" may mean the 'screener' taking the Forwarded music to the company to play for other decision makers. And therefore.... just focus on other things, keep writing & submitting, cause no one can say when or if something will happen.H'birdPS - Good luck with it though!

Quote:...just focus on other things, keep writing & submitting, cause no one can say when or if something will happen.Absolutely! I've already begun considering other places to pitch the track if it doesn't fly for this listing, and of course I'm writing other songs as well.Vikki, I think you and I (and surely many others on this board) have the same attitude...the only ones who fail are the ones who give up too soon. Quote:In this case, what do you suppose my Taxi Music page will say as the scenario plays out? It would still read "forwarded", if the client takes it along. However that "forward" simply means the client took it along for further consideration...doesn't guarantee a deal. I've had forwards of this nature that led to deals, and others that didn't.For something as big as a Pussycat Dolls cut, it's not likely a single person is going to make that call by themselves...
