Need help with Chaos/Falling Apart listing

I had some time so I wrote and recorded a tune that dealt with the subject matter from the Chaos/Falling Apart listing. Here is the listing:SONGS in ALL STYLES about chaos, crumbling down, falling apart, disintegration, etc. are sought by an LA-based Music Library owned by veterans of that industry. A good example is "Burning Down The House" by the Talking Heads. Great performances are essential, especially vocally. They offer a non-exclusive, 50/50 split deal - you keep your original copyrights. Broadcast quality needed. You bring up a good point...I never thought about the "global" catastrophe angle...I was just thinking songs about that subject matter...

It would be helpful to just have a tad more information in this listing as to what context in which it would be used. I have found in the past some listings to be really precise and others, like this one, to be so vague that really end up guessing. Oh well, I guess thats the nature of the biz .Will TAXI really field calls for listing clarifications? I didn't think that was possible as they didn't have the staff bandwidth to deal with that kind of call volume. I don't know. I think this song is so good that if it misses this listing it will find a home somewhere, easily.Good luck!Rich

Thanks Rich. I meant to call TAXI and waited too long (was busy watching over our 1 year old Aussie, who is all about getting into things right now!) and by the time I called, they were closed.I have not had any time to recut the vocals, so I'll probably just send and consider it a lesson learned!

Hi KeithIt's a great song, no doubt! I also can't tell if songs about personally falling apart are less desirable than those that are more on the global scale. The suggestion by Michael to change it to "WE are falling apart" was a good one. My take: Most of the time when you see a listing like this it means there is a film or TV music supervisor looking for one or more replacement tracks and the library is pitching for that need. It could be that "Burning Down The House" and maybe others are temporarily in as placeholders (in one or more spots) but are too costly for final use. Musically it says "all styles", so my guess is lyrics are more important and the better they compare to the "a la" song the better.BTW, I don't know the deadline here just from reading this thread. Is it too late for someone to call TAXI today and ask if any clarification is available?Good luck! Casey
