Hi everyone,I have a question and I hope you could give me an answer. I'm going to submit 3 songs to next listing : TAXI # S070129AAIs it OK to sell EP over CD Baby and submit for Taxi listing? In case of being forwarded, will publisher reject me because I've already sold some number of copies? Does that affect his decision about offering me a deal (of course, in case I'm good enough to get forwarded and signed)?Thank youWish you all the best in 2007.G.

The absolutely worst case scenerio is that they'd want a totally exclusive deal in which case you'd simply offer to write new songs in the style of the song that they liked. One step at a time and getting your foot in the door is pretty much the first step. "Submit away" and cross that bridge when you come to it.Dave

Once a deal is being offered, you can consider it, negotiate it, and ultimately decide to accept it or pass on it. That will be your decision IF it comes to that.If anything it's an advantage to you if your music sells, particularly if the figures are fairly impressive.

Franz,I have made the same kind of complaints about ambiguous listings. No one should have to use their third eye to figure out what a listing means. Are these people songwriting experts or not? If so, they should be able to put together a simple prose listing that does not leave ten thousand people scratching their heads. If they don't want a solo instrument, just say so, for Christ's sake, istead of mentioning two solo instruments they do not want.

Some might have been musicians but 90% of the people I've dealt with do what they do best (direct films, put deals together, whatever) and that doesn't include music. That's why they come to us. Of course I wish that all descriptions (inside and outside of Taxi) would be clearer, but I've come to understand and accept that they find what they're looking for using the descriptions they use. We'll just have to get reading glasses for that third eye. Dave

The listing in question was probably the most ambiguous (or potentially confusing, at least) I've seen, but the listing party is in control of this...not Taxi.I try to target listings that are in styles that'll likely come up again so if I'm not forwarded or offered a contract, I'll probably be able to find another home for the piece. Nonetheless, I've written a lot of music that's not being used anywhere...I think that's just the nature of this beast, so don't get too attached to one song or another.Also, don't be afraid to call Taxi and ask for clarification on a listing before you write or submit for it...they are always happy to share additional info.Andre

Hi again,I've become MoB member on broadjam.com .. I've just uploaded two songs I would like to submit to certain listing which deadline is January 29. Activation time is 0-48h .. I'm afraid it could be 0-48h in week. Today's friday.. Will I make it? Thnx everyone
