Quote:Are you actualy playing any of his or is it all samples? On the piano trio cut I played the piano and bass parts and did extensive editing on the drum loops to get them to flow with the tune. The piano and bass are sampled but not sampled loops. On the acid jazz track I played the organ part, the synth lead part and the bass part and again did much editing on the drum loops and funk guitar loops to get them to flow. The organ is a Nord Electro and the bass was a sample from Yellow Tools Majestic.I'm old school from the days when you had to be able to play. I have nothing against loop music and do plenty of it myself but I can play when necessary.Cheers!Mazz

Mazz, you seem to have so many sample libraries that I can't keep up with them. Just how much do you have in that regard?

The playing is really good all around and the sound is perfect for the style. Something like that I personally wouldn't attempt with samples. The trick for me with samples is know their strengths and weaknesses and then work within and around them. I still fall flat on my face tryijng to do too much sometimes but I'm still learning.Excellent stuff, do you have more of that? Can we hear more, pleeeezzzzzzeeeee! Mazz

MazzOf course I use samples too, I'm just ribbing you. But that track is from my last record. All real musicians. I edited it to make it shorter.Actualy I was sampling before people knew what it was. i was recording to hard disk in 1988 at 100k 24bit. Think about that for a moment. In 1988? Not many people even had a computer back then.Anyway thank you for the compliments. Your stuff is great too. The rest of the tracks on my record are not samba oriented. They are smooth jazz as it is a smooth jazz record. The only one I have available for posting right now is the only cover tune on the record.http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... m=trueIt's nothing special. I just like the tune.
