I'm Back & I Rock

Post by kg » Sun Mar 30, 2008 3:41 am

A little shameless self-promotion via this excerpt from Kelly Greene's Myspace Blog about the next album and its launch. Quote:Saturday, March 29, 2008 I’m Back & I Rock Current mood: excited Category: Music I’m back from an amazing nine days of recording with some incredible talent. I can’t wait until it’s officially released. This album f*ing ROCKS!!!!! if I do say so myself; I even impressed myself, and for those of you who know me well, you know that’s no easy task. I will appropriately thank all those involved in due time, but a quick shout out to Jason, Jon, Mark, Roy, Kevin and Rosemary - I couldn’t have done it without you. Don’t fret, my loyal fans, friends and foes, I’ll be hearing final mixes soon and will rescue you from the rock-less hell you now endure (a little dramatic lingo never hurts), but before that can happen, the lovely Adriane Hornung will be shooting the cover and wrestling my chickenscratch into eight folds or less, but first she’ll have to pry my shiny red Gretsch and the Sugar Free Adrenaline Rush from my hands. There are some really exciting things about to happen. My new website and the next evolution of me will be launched soon with all the minute details your tingling ears crave, but for now I can tell you that the album launch show will be on SATURDAY, JUNE 21, 2008, in NYC at The Cutting Room. (For all you Sex In the City fans, Mr. Big himself owns this lovely venue...all the more reason to come). One of our favorite friends (both myspace and RL) Chris Mahoney will be opening for us that night. We’ll get all the info out to you as soon as it’s settled, but there will also be KG/CMP buses heading to the city from the sticks to accomodate all of our "local" fans. We’ll keep you posted - literally. Until we meet again, my friends; same blog time, same blog place.

Hey, Kelly-- Congratulations!!! I know how great it feels to be nearing the completion of a super rocking album! Each album is a marker in our lives, a kind of landmark in time, and it's such a great feeling to have something in hand after so many months (or years?) of planning and preparation. Recording CD's is such a cool and incredible process. Those days in the studio recording with incredible musicians are absolutely the best! Watching your ideas and productions unfold before your eyes, hearing the musicians make it even more incredible than what you had on the scratch tracks... I absolutely love and live for those days!!And you know we are all just DYING to hear it!!! Congratulations!! Raags

Thanks, everybody. I really can not wait for everyone to hear it. It's one thing to have people you know listen to it, but it's an entirely different thing when musicians/songwriters you know listen to it (and I know you all get that). The bass player happened to swing by the studio when it was being mixed (after I left) and messaged me today to say how great it's sounding. I'll be sure to give you all a sneak peak as soon as I can.

Oh, honey. I am SO happy for you. I can hardly wait to hear it, and I know I'm not alone there.I'm not kidding... If I didn't have to spend a week in Denver in early June (for the wedding of the first one of my nieces and nephews to get married), I swear, I'd be there in NYC for your debut. It would give me a chance to be a groupie AND to visit with my step-dad. STILL a very tempting idea......Huge Congrats. Keep us posted. (I know you will.)XOXOXTedMy best to Jon.
