Another new guy looking for critiques

Post by daskitso » Sun Jan 13, 2008 7:30 pm

Hello Everyone,Not only am I looking for critiques of my songs, but also help in deciding the genres they might work in. I have different versions of several songs which might fit in different catagories. It's hard to submit when I don't know where they belong. The production is all out dated. This I know, but I feel the songs could be brought up to speed with current production and possibly submitted to preiod projects if I knew which period to submit which songs. Before I re-demo the tunes I would like to get as much feed back as my ego can handle. Thanks for any input,Bubba

Hi Bubba, welcome aboard. You've set us a very difficult task, as it takes time to go and listen to someone's music and assess even one song effectively. IMHO you should post your songs in Peer to Peer, a maximum of one a day, with lyrics and a link, and ask what genre would suit as well as for feedback on the songwriting. And it's good form to also listen to and critique other member's work, as all feedback is valuable. (You haven't provided a link to your music in your post.)Great to have you here. You might take a read thru the first post on this thread, as it might help you find your way around the forum-- http://taxi.proboards27.com/index.cgi?b ... ummin'bird

Thanks for the reminder. I actually did read the material before I began, but got side tracked while writing the first post and forgot how to make the link. www.taxi.com/daskitso. Thanks also for the Peer to peer tip, I will check that out hopefully right now. In the mean time, now that I have the link to my page w/ songs and the lyrics should be there as well, anyone who would like to critique them, I would appreciate it. The production is outdated, but there are Rock, R&B, AC, Rap so if you have a specialty feel free to focus on your favroite area. Thanks again,Bubbawww.taxi.com/daskitso

Hey Bubba, I'm listening to "To Good For me". This is a nice track. Definitely has an 80's rap feel. Sort of early Fresh Prince, The Fat Boys, that sort of thing. I think it's well done and would be good for some film listings looking for this sort of stuff.I'm checking out "No Cash For X-mas", this is great, I could definitley hear this in a commercial. You should have plenty of Christimas opportunitys for this one! Good Luck.
