Folk guitarist for Broadway bound (we hope)show

Post by keyman19 » Thu Sep 03, 2009 2:03 pm

I am looking for a folk type guitarist for a production of the new musical "Troll Loll La". The musical is based on Norwegian Folk Tales, which all come together to tell the story of Freddy, who spends his time defending himself from both his brothers' insults and the gruesome trolls who haunt the forest. It is timely because of the upcoming movie "Where the Wild Things Are" of which it is similar in tone. The world premiere will be in the town of Kent Lakes, NY (www.artsonthelake.org) in March, 2010 and then onward. You would be part of a team of professionals from NYC.You do not need to accompany the show (although this is a possiblity) but rather accompany yourself in solo songs as you move the story ahead as narrator, and sometimes interact with cast members. If you are "in the area" and would like to be part of a show with award winning composer (Shelly Gartner) and lyricist/librettist (Tony Howarth), we'd love you to check it out.You can also email me directly at sbgartner@optonline.net. Check out the attachment which gives you a crude idea of the ad-lib style of the short pieces you would sing.
