A two-fer deal!

Post by tedsingingfox » Tue Jul 01, 2008 1:16 pm

I just got the contracts, via email, today!!!One of the two acapella Doo Wop songs TAXI forwarded got a deal. As I was getting the deal put together, the company rep mentioned that if I had any other songs like this one that I thought they might like to hear, I could send them along, too.I took the bait and sent them the third Doo Wop song I had (which TAXI did NOT forward). They want BOTH of them.OK, here we go... wooHOO!!!!!Speaking only for myself, TAXI is the single smartest thing I've ever done for my career, and I am FOREVER grateful.I guess that would make me...The Grateful Ted

Hey Ted,Congratulations! One thing I've found out is that, more or less, the "bar" to get into a library is higher than the bar to submit once you're "in". They still will only accept quality material but since they already know you meet their standards, they're not going to over-scrutanize subsequent submissions.Since you'll undoubtedly be working on "relationship building" with this library now that you're part of their family, we expect you to have at least several more submitted and accepted into this library by time the Rally arrives.

When I was touring regularly (which means we're talking nearly 15 years ago), the TedHead buttons were the single biggest sellers at the CD/T-shirt tables after show.
