Well some of you may remember me as a somewhat disgruntled taxi member from last year, having been forwarded many times and not having heard back from anyone. Or maybe from my letter to Michael that he posted here prompting all sorts of debate and derision. I did get an email from a library shortly after my membership expired nearly a year ago, and began submitting more material to them. They've signed about 20 of my tracks in the past year, and I just heard they've finally placed one of them in an independent film, which will net me 200 or so (after they take their share, and my partner gets his 50 percent) for the license fee, and whatever residuals will come. I'd recently renewed my taxi membership, as I am convinced that this business really will take a long time to get out of first gear, and taxi will slowly help me to make more all-important contacts, and with this first placement I'm excited and hopeful that this represents the beginning of a potentially lucrative long road ahead. Thanks taxi and Michael, for inspiring me to turn the ignition key!Dan

hey Liam..i've drifted away from the flamenco since the library i'm working with doesn't accept guitar stuff for some reason. but i've been exercising my versatility with a variety (oops, oops) of things they do like, some afghan/electronica fusion, iranian pop, chassidic electronic, rock a la fujiya migayi, humorous euro dance, spanish lullabies and some other stuff. lots of collaborations. Have you gotten any placements since we last talked? I hope so. Dan

I thought you had a great feel although you were always very modest about it Glad to see you're busy! Awesome!Yup, it's been quite a good year for me for library placements. But getting into the library is one thing. Getting placed further is another altogether and I'm still trying to jump that hurdle. As they say, onward and upward Good to see you around Liam

REALLY glad to see you back, Dan.Rather than revel in doing my "We told you so" dance (as it is SUCH an exhausting drain of energy), let me just say that I knew you were one of the smart ones and that you had the goods needed for the long haul.Welcome to first gear. Ted
