Just got my contract in the mail last night. It's for the Celtic instrumental that was due back in February, plus they asked for other instrumentals and signed a second one. The latter is a kind of twisted circus music thing that I've never even submitted to anything thru TAXI.Anybody else with that Celtic instrumental?

Hi CK,Congratulations! I remember your Celtic stuff as being pretty darn good (understatement). He's not on the forum much anymore but Doug Sparling (can't remember his forum name now for some reason) does a lot of Celtic stuff and has had great success in that niche as I imagine you will also. http://www.dougsparling.com/

Yeah, a great day.But honestly, I don't "do" Celtic -- not on purpose. I wrote a very straight-laced Early Music styled cue for a local production of MacBeth last year. Piano and finger cymbal (I know, not period-accurate, but the director wanted all piano + simple percussion cues in case he toured it). When I saw the TAXI "Euro Folk" listing, I thought hmm.... I essentially took the MacBeth cue, swung the rhythm, added a B section and arranged it for guitar, mandolin, and accordion/recorder on the lead.I got dinged on the Euro listing but a friend told me the piece sounded Celtic. Then a Celtic listing came up. There you have it...But TAXI keeps surprising me. My first-ever forward was my first country song. So TAXI is expanding my horizons.Did you see that post from terryb? Something like 30 pieces signed in one go? I was all proud of 2 (and still am) but I have a ways to go. Onward and upward!Vickyemerson, nice stuff! Congratulations! (we have at least a little in common; my country forward was inspired by my wedding vows last summer. )
