Re: First Big Deal...
Hey Dan-That's great news! May this be one of many such jobs in your future. Are you doing all the original game music, or having some tracks licensed? As a precaution, you might not get TOO excited until the contract is signed, and even after that, until you know for sure the project has been "greenlighted." In my experience in the game industry (as both a composer and a music supervisor), I can tell you that things often change on a dime...budgets dry up, projects get canceled, project management changes hands, marketing decides they want a big name act to put on the box, etc.Not trying to put a hex on your gig...I'm sure it'll work out - just be aware that are some variables to consider.AndréPS - How'd you come across this opportunity?

Re: First Big Deal...
Hey Andreh, thanks!I'm doing original music for the game, to answer your question. As far as your concerns, I appreciate it, but that's very unlikely with this game since its the sequel to one that's already proved very popular, and the company is probably the most well known producer of video games out there I had these same concerns, as well, initially, but I've been in communication with them constantly, and it's definitely happening. Their LA office is putting together the contract this week, and I should have it in about a week myself. So, something pretty crazy would have to happen for this to not go through...Hopefully that doesn't end up being the case! Thanks again, now I'm off to the NAMM show,Dan

Oh, and I was fortunate enough to actually have them contact me for the gig. They heard another project that I did for Big Fish Audio called "Punk and Indie Rock: Slammin Sounds of So Cal", and contacted me. They just happened to be looking for someone with experience in that kind of music. So I really just got lucky!

Wow... that's the best when you get a "big time" call out of the blue based on some other work you did. Great stuff.
