Re: HARPO PROMO!
I am happy for you Mazz. You have never been anything but nice and helpful to old Horace. But this only happened because you write interesting music. I knew you would do just fine for a long time now, but your gameshow piece was a real clincher. And you didn't even know I had listened to it.

Quote:t it was buried behind all of O's talkin'.ibanez468That's the way it is, man. I played in clubs for so long that it doesn't even bother me. In fact, I practice with a recording of people talking and glasses clinking just so I can concentrate!

imagine if John Williams and Trent Reznor met at Bernard Hermann's for lunch and Brian Eno was the head chef!

Re: HARPO PROMO!
Not to get off topic, but I have done the same thing for years Mazz. I practice my solo guitar repertoire watching TV. If I can still remember the tune I'm playing with the distraction , I know the tune really well.I had a funny experience a couple of years ago while playing an upscale reataurant in town. Chuck Ainley (engineer for Mark Knopfler, a bunch of country artists AND the EZ Drummer Nashville expander) came in with his wife and another woman. They sat about four feet away from me gabbing away, all smoking cigarettes (every restaurant is now smoke free). At one point he turned to me and asked me if they were distracting me. I said no, I practice with the TV on to get used to distractions. I went on to say that I have a special TV that every few minutes blows cigarette smoke in my face. Fortunately, I think they knew I was joking and laughed along with the joke. Chuck

California's been that way about 10 years now. I've been smoke free since 1984!! Best thing I ever did! Actually I was kidding about the practicing thing but now that you mention it, it sounds like a good idea!! Cheers,Mazz

Re: HARPO PROMO!
That fanfare in the background is yours. NICE!!! That's a EXTREMELY hi-profile placement. You ROCK LOUD, in the most self-contained writer/producer kind of way... hmm..... Do you know yet, how much money that piece will generate from this one week of promos and then the show itself? Do you wanna tell us what it'll be worth? I guess you are now gonna become part of that survey that says writer/producers are one of the fastest growing income earners. We'll all keep your secret, promise. (and grimace with envy while we put on brave congratulatory faces. wait, mebbe that's just me... ) Congratulations again, man!
