Signing a "disco deal"

Post by crs7string » Wed Oct 03, 2007 2:48 am

I recieved an email in the last day or so from a library accepting the submission of a TAXI forward for "Summer's Gone" a disco track. This was a fairly quick turnaround. The submission date was 8/15/2007. I've approached the entire submission process as a numbers game with the idea that quality and quantity would increase over time. The other part of the numbers game is sometimes things will happen quickly, sometimes take a long time. This is my fourth library relationship I've developed in a year and a half of TAXI membership. It's working for me.Chuck

News like that makes me feel optimistic. For me, hope can be found in all sorts of places like..- Someone else is getting deals (I have to believe that if someone else can do it, so can I unless I'm some total Schleprock fluke of nature who cannot win.. in which case I can always offer up my life as a script for a TV movie which could, I suppose, feature my own music in it as some sort of cruel twist)- My songwriting is getting better (I like this one because I feel like I'm getting somewhere even though I have no tangible measure since the 'better' is in my own opinion)- I got a forward (not that it pays any bills or really indicates success but it's like a finger twitch on a coma patient.. it's something)

Excellent news Chuck, that's great progress. If you keep all these relationships alive you should see a very nice payoff in a few years.matto

Yep, when you keep moving forward and don't wait for results... then you get results. Congratulations.

that's fantastic, Chuck. And amazingly quick. Let's hope that's a trend that continues... Ted
